Dr. Joan Chen is a Vice President at Decheng Capital and has been with the firm since July 2025.
Prior to joining Decheng, Dr. Chen was with 5Y Capital in Shanghai and Delos Capital in Hong Kong, focusing on venture investments in the life sciences sector across China and the United States. She began her career as a life sciences consultant at Charles River Associates, advising global pharmaceutical companies and leading biotech firms on drug development strategy, new product launch, and market expansion.
Dr. Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Columbia University.
